September - the New Year for Teachers

Every teacher starts her year in September, rather than in January.  September is the new start and the year is a clean slate.  

I love  September but I love the weekend before it all starts even more.  This is my Salt Spring weekend and a time where I mentally and emotionally say goodbye to the children who have left and hello to the children coming.  It is a time of calm before the chaos.  



By this weekend, I know what we will be doing this first month and I am working ideas around in my head for the next month.

As my daughter and I hit the road yesterday, we looked up and saw my initial in the sky.  We can't imagine how that occurred but we were delighted to see it.  Yes!  This is my weekend and I am going to enjoy every moment of it.  I hope you are enjoying yours as well!
